Railroad apartment - A railroad apartment is a type of apartment floorplan in which there is no hallway and all the rooms are arranged in a line. The name comes from the fact that the rooms come one after the other like railroad cars.
Chandler and Joey's apartment - Joey and Chandler's apartment is a fictional Manhattan flat that served as a regular setpiece on the American sitcom Friends. In terms of the show's main action, it was not as central a setting as Monica's apartment or Central Perk.
Mother-in-law apartment - A mother-in-law apartment is a small apartment accessory to a larger house. It may or may not have a communicating door to the main house, but virtually always has a separate entrance and is usually not part of the original design.
Garage apartment - A garage apartment is an apartment built on top of the garage of a house. If the garage is attached, it will have a separate entrance and may or may not have a communicating door to the main house.
