Future interests - Future interests is the subset of actuarial math that divides enjoyment of property -- usually the right to an income stream either from an annuity, a trust, royalties, or rents -- based usually on the future survival of one or more persons (natural humans, not corporate beings).
Regulatory capture - Regulatory capture is a phenomenon in which a government regulatory agency becomes dominated by the interests of the industry that it oversees. In the United States, the most notorious examples are the Civil Aeronautics Board, which protected airlines from competition; the Interstate Commerce Commission, known as the "trucker's best friend," which restricted competition in transportation; and the Department of Agriculture, which implements policies that are alleged to favor the interests of large corporate farming concerns over those of consumers and family farmers.
Sound science - Sound science is a phrase often used by corporate business and industry public relations and by government agencies to describe the scientific research that is used to justify their political claims or positions, or to vilify research threathening their interests hence safeguarding their revenue. Sound science, however, has no specific scientific definition itself, so the phrase is used subjectively.
Google Watch - Google Watch is a website run by Public Information Research, started in 2002 by Daniel Brandt. Brandt states that the website's goals are to report on conflicts of interest in Google's corporate structure, the dependency of the public on it for information, invasion of privacy issues, and its increasing commercial links with private interests.
