Multicast Listener Discovery - Multicast Listener Discovery is the protocol used in the IPv6 protocol suite by a router to discover listeners for a specific multicast group, much as IGMP is used in IPv4. The protocol is embedded in ICMPv6 instead of using a separate protocol.
