Ulam spiral - The Ulam spiral, or prime spiral (in other languages also called Ulam cloth) is a simple method of graphing the prime numbers that reveals a pattern which has never been fully explained. It was discovered by the mathematician Stanislaw Marcin Ulam in 1963, while doodling on scratch paper at a scientific meeting.

Nuclear pulse propulsion - ... pulse propulsion (or External Pulsed Plasma Propulsion, as it is termed in one recent NASA document) is a proposed method of spacecraft propulsion that uses nuclear explosions for thrust. It was first developed as Project Orion by ARPA, after a suggestion by Stanislaw Ulam in 1957.

Project Orion - Project Orion was the first engineering design study of spacecraft powered by nuclear pulse propulsion, an idea first proposed by Stanislaw Ulam in 1947. The project, initiated in the 1950's, was led by a team of engineers and physicists from General Atomics and included well known academics such as Physicist Theodore Taylor.

Stanisław Marcin Ulam - Stanisław Marcin Ulam (April 13, 1909–May 13, 1984) was a Polish mathematician who helped develop the Teller-Ulam design which powers the hydrogen bomb, as well as a number of other important mathematical tools.
