Redundancy (user interfaces) - The user interface of a software application or operating system is sometimes described as redundant if the same task can be executed by several different methods. For example, a user is often able to open or save a project by navigating a menu with the mouse, by clicking a single button with the mouse, or by entering a key stroke.
Text user interface - TUI (Text User Interface) is a retronym that was coined sometime after the invention of graphical user interfaces, to distinguish them from text based user interfaces. TUIs are different from command-line interfaces in that, like GUIs, they utilise the entire screen area and do not necessarily provide line-by-line output.
Attentive user interface - The Attentive User Interfaces (AUI) are User Interfaces that manage the user attention deciding when to interrupt the user, the kind of warnings, and the level of detail of the messages presented to the user.
